The topic of our discussion this month was Email Marketing Resources for Small Businesses. We had a great discussion about the pros and cons of the Top 10 Email Marketing Programs. We focused on 5 of the top 10. Through work I do with several of my clients, I spend alot of time in Constant Contact, Mad Mimi and Mail Chimp. I have become very fond of Mail Chimp for 2 reasons, 1 - it's FREE for up to 2000 contacts and you can send 12,000 emails a month and 2 - It is SOOOO EASY to set up and use! I am also a fan of Mad Mimi for several reasons as well, 1 - it's SOOO EASY, super simple for an email marketing newbie and 2 - you can upload and use unlimited images, unlike some of the other email marketing programs that restrict you to a certain number of images or make you pay extra charges for additional pictures.
We have decided to share our hand-out that contained information on the 5 programs we highlighted and discussed. The document also contains a list of 29 email marketing terms every marketer show be familiar with. This hand-out contains some very helpful information about email marketing and becoming familiar with the terminology.

I found this great article from HubSpot about how small companies are beginning to level the playing field against larger companies, with social media and blogs. According to recent research from HubSpot, small and large businesses are spending their marketing dollars in substantially different ways. The results come from a study based on a survey of over 600 professionals knowledgeable about their company's marketing strategy.
Whewwww, what a whirlwind it has been! Back in December of 2009, I picked up a DSLR Camera for the 1st time in my life! A year later, I entered my 1st official Photography Contest...AND Saturday, Feb 12, 2011 at the Artist's Reception my image was selected and awarded an Honorable Mention BY JOHN FIELDER HIMSELF!

Earlier this Spring, I entered Kroger's( here in Denver that is King Soopers and City Market Stores) Nationwide "2010 Design Our Reusable Shopping Bag Contest". Last week, I received word that my design was named as one of the top 10 FINALISTS. Well, I just received word that my design finished DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....
5th PLACE IN THE NATION!!!

Then, Monster.com will use its technology to comb through the resumes, using semantic filters and efficiently separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. At this point, a group of applicants will be asked to create videos and writing samples for IAAS.com, and those entries and videos will be on display for the public to offer their feedback as well. An advisory panel that includes Alicia Keys and her "team", as well as executives from Monster.com, will then look at the applicants and the top 10 will be selected and flown to New York.
The top 3 candidates will then be given a final task to blog about The Black Ball UK on May 27th. By the end of June, the new Head Blogger will be announced and hired.

Video Marketing has become HUGE and The Flip Video Camera has made putting videos on your website, blog etc. SUPER DUPER easy! I love my little Flip Camera! It goes with me everywhere, small enough to fit in a purse or pocket. And as you will see from this video about The Flip, getting your files off the camera is even easier.
The cost of a Flip is very reasonable as well...I have seen the price range from $120 to about $200, so very affordable.
I have become addicted to taking videos...it's fun and will help take your business to the next level! Showing your potential customers who you are, with a little bit of your personality, will help make your business SORE!
